Our Story

Located in historic Georgetown, South Carolina, the Kaminski House Museum offers a captivating blend of antiques, architecture, and history, all wrapped in Southern hospitality. Meticulously preserved, our museum provides an immersive experience of life in Georgetown from the 18th century through the two World Wars. Join us for a guided tour and listen to the intriguing tales of South Carolinians who shaped our past.

The People Behind the House

Over the centuries, the Kaminski House has passed through the hands of many remarkable owners whose lives shaped its story. From prominent merchants and civic leaders to families who called it home, each left an enduring imprint on the house and its legacy. Their stewardship preserved not only the elegant architecture and period furnishings but also the spirit of community and resilience that continues to define the Kaminski House today.

FRIENDS OF THE KAMINSKI HOUSE

The Friends of the Kaminski House is dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and promotion of this historic house museum, owned by the City of Georgetown, SC. As a 501(c)(3) educational organization, the Friends operate the Kaminski House Museum through a public/private partnership. Our mission is to preserve the museum and educate the public about its historical significance, its collection, and its relevance to the community. Dedicated to preserving our past, sharing our history, and hosting community events where people can gather, connect, and engage.

Take a Tour Monday Through Saturday | 11:00am, 1:00pm, or 3:00pm

Parking at Kaminski House

The Kaminski House does not have on-site parking, but you may pull into our driveway briefly for unloading. Free street parking is available throughout downtown Georgetown, as well as in public lots on Orange Street and Screven Street, just a short walk from the museum.
